Fashionable Contrasts or the Duchess's little shoe yielding to the Magnitude of the Duke's Foot! This was a Suppressed caricature by James Gillray first published by H. Humphrey January 24th 1792 depicting the Duke of York with his mistress the Duchess of Devonshire. A Bohn edition etching circa 1830 - 1840 the colouring is later.

A wonderfuly illustrated caricarture by James Gillray , (16th March 1799) Personal letters from disgruntled French officers in Bonaparte's Egyptian command had been intercepted by the British Navy and published in London. Gillray offered this version of French '' savants'' in difficulties with the natives, assuring his audience that it had been etched from '' from the Original Intercepted Drawings'' A Bohn edition original hand coloured etching circa 1830 - 1840
